I’ve always been into the arts, as a kid, I found solace in music and started Djing when I was around 13. I would spend most of my weekends in record shops sifting through vinyl, looking at the funky artwork from the 60’s & 70’s all the way through to 90’s dance music. I progressed from bedroom Dj to bedroom producer and even had a stab at running my own record labels throughout my 20’s. Through this time I began to learn more about the new digital culture surrounding the music industry, learning how to use graphic tools and web-based practices to create artwork for the labels releases, but had never touched paint in my life until the pandemic hit. 

The epidemic was a difficult period for all of us, not quite sure knowing what the future had in store for us and I needed some form of artistic release and something fresh to occupy my time, something away from computer screens. 

I discovered acrylic pour painting on YouTube and it quickly piqued my creative interest; I couldn’t stop throwing paint at a canvas and soon noticed my mood shifted, I could feel the empty hole I had created for myself by moving away from the music industry fill back up with a newfound love of art.

I still have a lot to learn, which makes the process even more intriguing to me. With each piece I produce, I push myself to try something new, which results in something unique each time. It’s quickly become apart of my daily thinking process of when can I get back in the studio and what colours do I need to buy.
